AuSable Valley Nor-East'r Association of Folk is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of creative and performance arts in north east Michigan with special emphasis on tradtional genre.  We define "north east Michigan" as I-75 & M-55 north & east to Lake Huron.

Our Mission: 

Objectives:  Encourage, educate and enrich people.  Create and provide a cultural event for the community.  Draw an interest from outside the area to open a new venue for economic development.  Bring together organizations and individuals.  Establish a local performing arts stage. WE DID IT IN 2004!!! Create facilities to support the arts.

Our Purpose:  To expand facilities and educational programming related to the arts in our region.  To plan and provide a traditional music and folk art festival in order to create cultural opportunity for the community, improve potential for economic development, and attempt to define and meet the artistic needs of this community.

Our Vision:  AVNAF envisions creating, at least, one quality performance stage (DONE DEAL 2004) and possibly other public facilities on the site it utilizes, with the hope to expand improvements to other artistically related public sites.  We strive to provide subsidy to artistic educational programs within our region.  We plan to achieve this by hosting a sought after annual musical and art event requiring a cap on ticket sales, able to support its own office with paid receptionists, expanding to include quality exhibits of the traditional arts from all media and increasing educational sessions.  WOW!  Surely everyone wants to help do that?  All donations are tax deductible!

Membership:

You can become a member in our efforts by:
Annual membership $15
Annual Family (2 adults & up to 8 children) $30
Lifetime $100  (board must vote to approve lifetime memberships)
Lifetime HOUSEHOLD (yes, lifetime for 2 adults & up to 8 children who currently live in your house for the rest of their lifetime!...must include list of names...list will not be shared & you can opt not to have them published) $200
Membership may also be obtained by volunteering 75 or more hours.

Benefits:

10% discount on AVNAF merchandise purchased at the festival, via the PO Box, or via Chamber of Commerce for Oscoda County, voting priviledges on open topics & board seats or officers, newsletters, option to participate in annual evaluation, a feeling of well-being, & gratitude from AVNAF & those who benefit from our services

Southern Breeze: $100-200  Listing as a sponsor of AVNAF on website,1 weekend Nor-East'r Festival ticket

Westwind: $201-599  Listing as a sponsor of AVNAF on website, 1/2 page Festival program ad,
2 weekend Nor-East'r Festival tickets.

Strong Westwind:  $600-$999  Listing as a sponsor of AVNAF on website with your logo, listing as a sponsor in Noreast'r Festival program book, acknowledgment on printed ads for other AVNAF events, 4 weekend NorEast'r Festival tickets.

Eastern Gale:  $1,000 or more  Listing as a sponsor on website with your logo and link to your website, 1/2 page ad in NorEast'r Festival program book, acknowledgment on printed ads for other AVNAF events, named in broadcast ads when feasible, 6 weekend tickets to NorEast'r Festival.

Northerner:  $5,000 or more Listing as above and on the Home Page of NorEast'r website with you logo, Mention in radio ads, Full page ad in NorEast'r Festival Program book, up to 6 NorEast'r Festival tickets, undying gratitude.

The Board may grant lifetime membership. Membership expires Dec of each year. Prospective new members must be approved by the Board of Directors.
